Oburu's Life Hangs On The Balance As Family Rushes to Fly Him to the UK for Treatment

Siaya Senator and ODM party leader Oburu Oginga has reportedly been readmitted to hospital after experiencing health complications linked to severe fatigue.

The 83-year-old veteran politician is said to be receiving medical attention under strict conditions, with doctors and hospital management restricting visitors to allow him adequate rest and uninterrupted medical assessment.

The development has attracted considerable attention within Kenya’s political circles because of Oburu’s influential role in the ODM leadership and his long-standing involvement in national politics.

His family is reportedly considering taking him to the United Kingdom for specialised medical treatment once doctors determine that he is stable enough to travel. Preliminary arrangements for a possible air ambulance transfer are also said to be under consideration.

However, no official confirmation has been issued regarding when or whether Oburu will travel abroad. The decision is expected to depend on medical advice and his response to treatment.

Medical personnel managing his condition reportedly say the senator is responding to treatment but remains under close observation. His family has maintained privacy regarding the exact nature of his illness.

Party officials and relatives have appealed to the public to remain calm and respect the family’s privacy as doctors continue working to stabilise his condition.

Oburu has been a prominent figure in Kenyan politics for decades and has remained closely associated with the Odinga family and ODM affairs.

Further updates on his health and any possible transfer to the UK are expected after the medical team completes its assessment and gives the necessary clearance.
